STUDENTS’ CODE OF CONDUCT

Our school’s code of conduct is based on the belief that there are values fundamental to the well-being of both the individual and society as well as we are all responsible for the choices we make. We at SNPS believe that the code encourages students to recognize and respect diversity and individual differences.

In the process, we want students to develop self-discipline which should be considered as a core of personal activity.

As a first step to become responsible citizens of the world, all the students must:

  • Behave in a courteous, decent and modest manner.
  • Demonstrate honesty and integrity, therefore, lying, cheating and stealing of any kind must be shunned.

We expect our students to maintain and encourage high standards of personal conduct.

These include honesty, discipline, integrity, respect and consideration, ethics and values.

  1. All students are advised to reach school ten minutes before the scheduled time. It is compulsory for all students to attend the General Assembly in the morning at 8.00 am. Late comers will not be allowed to enter the school once the gates are closed.
  2. Care must be taken of all school’s property and no student should scratch, spoil the desks or chairs or damage any school furniture, write or draw anything on the walls or in any way damage things belonging to others.
  3. All students must wear the specified, neat and proper school uniform.
  4. In terms of class conduct special focus should be given to:
  • Maintaining the class/school decorum all the time.
  • Sitting properly during class teaching and otherwise.
  • Not creating any disturbance during the teaching/learning process.
  • Take appropriate measures to help those in need.
  1. Students are not allowed to bully or intimidate other students, staff or teachers. In case of any problem, they are encouraged to contact the Class Teacher/ Coordinator or the Principal for the redressal of complaints, if any.
  2. All students are expected to speak only in English at school and we request the parents to encourage the students to do so at home as well.
  3. All students shall bring the school almanac to school every day. Parents are expected to check the almanac daily and sign wherever required.
  4. Students should always wear their school ID card.
  5. No valuable articles and gold jewellery to be worn by the children. School is not responsible for goods, money or jewellery lost.
  6. SNPS envisions being a vibrant community of compassionate learners and thinkers for whom excellence is a credo.

ADVISORY FOR PARENTS

  1. Home is the place where the students get their first education and training in citizenship. It is the chief place where their character is formed and developed. School education indeed promotes the growth of personality and helps to discover and develop the qualities that are in the children. In order to secure all that is the best in the education of your child, maximum co-operation between the parents and the school authorities is necessary.
  2. The task of helping our children to become good citizens is done better through a kind of partnership between the school and parents. The school desires to have your co-operation and close contact with the teachers in order to develop an atmosphere that is conducive to better and more effective education.
  3. We earnestly request the parents to ensure that the lesson and homework assigned for the next day is completed. You are requested to pay attention to any of teachers’ remarks very carefully and acknowledge them.
  4. Absence of your child from class for attending social functions is discouraged because it retards the child’s progress and minimizes his interest in regular hard work, It is essential that the school be informed when the child is detained at home. Children who are ill should not be sent to school to attend class or take tests. In case of illness, application for leave must reach the school without delay.
  5. Children should do their homework by themselves. They should not be helped in it by parents or by tutors unless they really need it. It is important that the children develop a habit of studying and working on their own.
  6. Criticism of a teacher should be avoided in the presence of the child because it undermines his/her respect for the teachers and the school. In case you have any legitimate complaint, please meet the Principal.
  7. Giving presents to the staff or other demonstrations of gratitude or goodwill to honour them is not allowed.
  8. As your child advances in age, guide him/her to become a resourceful and useful member of the home, society and the country. Encourage self-help for work and study. He/she should be taught to keep his room tidy, make his own bed, polish his/her own shoes, carry his/her own bag etc. The formation of such habits early in life inculcates in him the idea of dignity of work, which is a fundamental personal virtue necessary for a successful career in life.
