Swachhata Pakhwada was celebrated in Sant Nirankari Public School, Sector 16A, Faridabad during 1st to 15th September 2018. The activities conducted by the school during the Swachhta Pakhwada enabled the students to be aware about the positive impact of hygiene and cleanliness in their surroundings to spread the message to the masses.

Swachhata Pakhwada was started with adhering of Swachhata Shapath on 1st September2018 by all the students and staff. Parents and children were inspired for hygiene and sanitation in school as well as at home through Parent Teacher Meet. School has already arranged Green and Blue-color dustbins for Recyclable and Unrecyclable waste respectively in view of making children learning about classification of wastes. Time and again students were encouraged to plant more trees in and around school premises. They were also guided to reuse waste material. Swachhata Participation Day was commenced with the participation of students in various activities/competitions like Quiz, Debate, Skit, Poem-making, Essay and painting which were displayed in the school. A March and Nukkad Natak was organized by the school to propagate the theme of Swachhata Pakhwada amongst the citizen in nearby areas. Children were taught proper method of hand washing before and after eating, using toilets etc. Through Audio visual program, students/ house-keeping employees were motivated to maintain cleanliness and hygiene practices. The learners were instructed the hygienic manner of using toilets and drinking water as well as about disposing organic, inorganic waste. Students prepared Model on Rain Water Harvesting which was exhibited in the school campus. Through letter writing competition, students were taught to write formal letters to higher officials of Municipal Corporation for maintenance of public places/toilets and welfare of the society. On the last day of Pakhwada, prize distribution ceremony was commenced in the morning assembly to encourage the participants.
