As directed by the Ministry of drinking water and sanitation & Ministry of housing and urban affairs, Government of India, we at Sant Nirankari Public School Faridabad celebrated 3rd year anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission as ‘Swachhta hi Seva’ from 15th September to 2nd October 2017.

15th September to 2nd October 2017 was observed as “Swachhta Hi Sewa and “Say No to Polythene Bags and Yes to Cotton / Paper Bags”

PLAN OF DRIVE:- The strategy of drive focused on approaching the masses so that maximum population is covered and the effects are widespread and long lasting. The drive addressed issues of personal hygiene, public sanitation conditions, lack of awareness and the general issue of public attitude that withholds the population in taking a proactive attitude towards the problems i.e the cleanliness and the value of shramdaan. The drive focused on gathering as much attention as possible, towards this issue which is otherwise taken lightly in Indian society.

SHRAMDAAN:-  It is often said , “Actions speak louder than words”.  On 22.09.2017, students of our school participated in shramdaan activity in which they collected the garbage from a particular area and threw it in to two different trashcans that is blue and green. In this way they spreaded awareness amongst people regarding the difference between blue bin and green bin. The main purpose of the drive was successfully achieved, people came to know that cleaning India is not a task of one person and we all have to join our hands and make a chain to fulfill this dream of Clean India, Green India.

On 25th September, 2017, during assembly the students took the pledge on maintaining the school, surroundings, houses etc. neat and clean and for this cleanliness drive was observed.  The students were also taught to keep their classrooms and corridors clean.  They were also taught to use the public conveniences whenever they are out of their houses.  Students were also informed that it is their right to use them and nobody can deny them to use.

On 27-09-2017, the cleanliness drive was conducted by the students of our school. The students of our school participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. The main motive behind the whole programme was to impart awareness amongst masses regarding the value of cleanliness and shramdaan. Approximately 100 to 150 students participated with banners and slogans like “Think Tidy – Our safety depends on cleanliness”, “When there is both inner and outer cleanliness, it approaches godliness” etc.

The students of std. IX and X presented a NUKKAD NATAK in the heart of the area. That was also gave the message of cleanliness. The public, who gathered there, appreciated the task of the students.

On 28th September 2017 Inter-school Drawing competition based on sanitation, hygiene, environmental cleanliness, Say no to polythene bags etc. was also conducted at different levels.  Students gave beautiful shape to their thoughts and imaginations in the form of superb drawings.
